Seasonal Tour around Sri Lanka

Day 1 - Welcome to Sri Lanka

  • Greeted by our Taya Finch representative on arrival. 
  • Travel to Colombo and proceed for hotel check-in.
  • Proceed for a Colombo sightseeing tour.
  • Thereafter spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

It is a city where great colonial era buildings are still left intact and are immaculately maintained to stand side by side with the modern in the most elegant manner. All Europeans left their own footprints in the city and more importantly their values among its people that made the Islanders a great Nation and their capital so pleasingly special.

Day 2: Witness Elephants & Visit the Cultural Side

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Travel to Pinnawala and visit the Elephant Orphanage.
  • Proceed to Dambulla and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple.
  • Thereafter travel to the hotel for check-in followed by the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, the world's first and only elephant orphanage established to feed, nurse and house young elephants lost or abandoned by their mothers.

Dambulla Cave Temple
The Cave Temple, first used as a refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock. Later kings made further improvements and the caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha.

Day 3: A Magnificent Fortress & Wildlife Experience

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit Sigiriya for an excursion of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
  • Conduct an evening Minneriya Park Safari.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress
This spectacular Rock Fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most impressive facets are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes, the Mirror Wall, the Lion platform and the Summit, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya’s glory.

Minneriya National Park 
Minneriya National Park is an ideal place for elephant and leopard watching. The vegetation of this park is mixed evergreen and scrub areas. The important feature of this park is that 3rd century built Minneriya Tank is located in the park.

Day 4: The Hills are alive with Culture

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Spice Garden, Matale.
  • Thereafter travel to Kandy and visit the Kandy Temple followed by a Cultural Dance.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Spice Garden
The Island had been famous for its spices since the medieval times and is considered as one of the main reasons for the Europeans to conquer the Island and for the Arabs to trade upon from the 14th century onwards.

A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital was the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha.

Day 5: Be Introduced to the World's Best Tea

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Conduct a Kandy city tour.
  • Travel to Peradeniya and visit the Royal Botanical Garden.
  • Thereafter travel to Nuwara Eliya, En route Tea Factory visit.
  • Proceed for hotel check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Royal Botanical Garden
The Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. 

Nuwara Eliya
Sri Lanka's premier hill resort with a fine bracing mountain climate, Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, producing some of the world’s best tea.  The mountain slopes and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls.

Day 6: Colonial Misty Mountains

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • [Optional] Early morning Horton Plains trek with packed breakfast from the hotel.
  • Conduct a Nuwara Eliya sightseeing tour.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Horton Plains
The journey involves a tedious climb before you reach the park entrance and may have to be done by jeep or van depending on the state of the rugged road. Upon reaching, commence the hike on a treacherous foot path across the vast plain that is set in a unique setting which is an absolute wonder of nature.

Day 7: Travel to the Sun, Sand and Sea

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Travel to Beruwala and proceed for hotel check-in.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • An overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Sea Turtles and Aquatic Wildlife up close

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • [Optional] Morning sightseeing excursion to the Galle Fort.
  • Travel to Balapitiya and conduct a Madu River boat safari.
  • Thereafter travel to Kosgoda and visit the Turtle hatchery.
  • Proceed back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Dinner & an overnight stay at the hotel.

Madu Ganga
The estuary of the Madu Ganga River is a complex coastal ecosystem of mangroves and islands. It may be one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.

Day 9: Thank you for travelling with us

  • Proceed to the airport in time for the departure flight.
