Day 01 : Welcome to Sri Lanka

  • A Taya Finch representative will meet you at the airport upon arrival.
  • Thereafter travel to Colombo and proceed for hotel check in.

Colombo

It is a city where great colonial era buildings are still left intact and are immaculately maintained to stand side by side with the modern in the most elegant manner. This outlook in fact is not seen so prominently in any other city in Asia. It no doubt speaks volumes of the glorious past attached to the city of Colombo from the 15th century onwards when the ownership of the city changed hands from the King to the Portuguese and then to the Dutch and to the English later, until the Island became a sovereign state once again in 1948. All Europeans left their own footprints in the city and more importantly their values among its people that made the Islanders a great Nation and their capital so ple asingly special.

  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure by the pool or conduct a Colombo sightseeing tour.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 : To the last Royal City (Colombo - Kandy)

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
  • Thereafter travel to Pinnawala and visit the Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Set amongst the verdant hills of Kegalle is a unique orphanage, where the tiny tots weigh 60 kg or more. This is the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, the world's first and only elephant orphanage established to feed, nurse and house young elephants lost or abandoned by their mothers. Other occupants are elephants displaced from their natural environs by development projects or those found wounded. Visitors could see the baby elephants being fed milk from gigantic feeding bottles or bathed in the river which flows nearby – an unforgettable sight!

  • After an exciting morning with elephants, travel to Kandy and conduct a Kandy sightseeing tour.

Kandy.

A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens – home to one of the world’s best collections of Orchids. A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or gold jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world’s best blue and star sapphires.

  • Travel to the hotel and conduct a hotel check in.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 03: Royal Botanical Gardens

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
  • Travel to Peradeniya and visit the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Royal Botanical Garden.

Peradeniya is situated about 5.5 km to the west from the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.

  • Proceed to Kandy and visit the Kandy Sacred Temple followed by a Cultural Dance.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 04: Little England (Kandy - Nuwara Eliya)

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
  • Travel to Nuwara Eliya, En route visit a Tea Factory.
  • Upon arrival to Nuwara Eliya conduct a city tour.

Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya's climate lent itself to becoming the prime sanctuary of the British civil servants and planters in Ceylon. Nuwara Eliya, called Little England, was a hill country retreat where the British colonialists could immerse in their pastimes such as fox hunting, deer hunting, elephant hunting, polo, golf and cricket. 

  • Proceed for hotel check in followed by the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 05 : Depart from your Island Paradise

  • Enjoy your last breakfast in Sri Lanka at the hotel.
  • Thereafter travel to the Airport in time for your departure flight.
