Situated in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, Horton Plains is surrounded by beautiful landscape, Green forests and rich in biodiversity was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. The plateau of Horton Plains is at an altitude of 2100- 2300 meters above sea level and is one of the breeziest places in Sri Lanka with a view of a range of flora and fauna. Large mammals are occasionally seen whilst Elk, deer, giant squirrel, wild boar, wild hare, porcupine and leopards are also seen frequently. The main tourist attractions include World's End and Baker's fall at the southern end of the plains
