No Sweat, Fun with the Kids

A big part of vacationing is to make sure that the kids have just as much fun as you do.

It's not always easy to keep them engaged and occupied, but it's good to know what options are available for you once you arrive on your holiday in Sri Lanka. If you're planning to spend some time in Colombo and the kids are getting antsy, there are a few play areas where you can keep them busy and happy. A favorite is Fun Factory down School Lane, Nawala. It's an indoor play area, carpeted, air-conditioned and full of fun things to do. They have a huge slide that leads to a ball pit, a trampoline, a reading area, dress-up area and so many toys to play with. And the best part is that it is totally safe.

The staff is completely hands-on, making sure that all the kids have fun, and you can either relax in the waiting area and read or browse the net (they have WiFi), or leave your kids for a few hours and come back to get them. The charges are about Rs. 450 an hour, but it's totally worth-it if it results in some peace of mind for you. There's also the PG Martin Kids' World on Isipathana Mawatha in Colombo 5 which has a few small rides, games, a bouncy castle and a slide. For babies and small toddlers there is also an indoor play area.
