Itinerary
Day 1 : Paradise Unveiled
Welcome to Sri Lanka as our Taya Finch Representative will meet you and get you started on your 1 hour journey to Kaleliya.
Spend some leisure time and look forward to your dinner and overnight stay at the lovely CASA Heliconia.
Day 2 : Sri Lanka at its Best
Sit down to a delicious breakfast before embarking on a 3 hour scenic journey to Kandy.
Upon arrival check in at the hotel and then begin sightseeing.
First up, is a visit to the Temple of Tooth.
Be awestruck by the beauty of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic which is one of the most iconic landmarks in the history of Buddhism located within close proximity to the Botanical gardens. The intricate architecture, historical paintings and the aura of peacefulness will captivate you from the moment you step in to the magnificent temple.
Have lunch as and when you choose at any place you like, and afterwards look forward to a visit to the Kandy Market in the late afternoon.
It is the central retail and wholesale market for the city and surrounding areas where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, handicrafts, batiks and so much more.
Afterwards visit the Queens hotel or Royal Hotel Bar for a cup of hot tea that does justice to this country where it is grown.
End the day with a refreshing night's stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Artistic you.....
Have a delicious breakfast at the hotel and spend the morning relaxing.
Venture out for lunch plans and then head back for an evening of Contemporary Art with Rahju.
After having tea with Rahju, his artist daughter, Rudrani, will show you around their house, share interesting facts about their cottage and show you her original paintings. Then its studio time as Rahju brings out his paintings and discusses each piece with you.
Return to the hotel for a blissful night's rest.
Day 4 : Traveling uphill
After a hearty breakfast you'll be on your way to Hatton by rail which will take about 2 hours.
Whilst Hatton serves as a gateway to Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) and the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, it is better known for its tea plantations.
Upon arrival, check in at your hotel before making your own lunch and leisure arrangements.
Your overnight hotel stay is sure to be a good one.
Day 5 : Tea Tales
After breakfast visit the Tea trails and the tea factory where the secrets of Ceylon Tea are unveiled.
Have lunch where you desire and ponder over whether you'd like to go hiking in the late evening.
Dinner will be served with a relish at the hotel and then you can retire for the night.
Day 6 - 7 - 8 : Southern Belle
What lovely sights await as you travel down south after breakfast on a 3 hour 30 minute journey for a 3-night stay in Tangalle.
It is a small town celebrated for its sweeping bays and beautiful sandy beaches which many say are among the best in world! Enjoy the sun, sea and surf and the romance of the destination.
An option for the history buff is a visit to the Mulkirigala Cave Temple which rises about 676 feet from the surrounding land mass. There are seven cave temples situated in five Terraced areas of different altitudes and are a great sight to see.
Lunch is at your own time and place.
Retreat for the night to your hotel.
Day 9 : The Best of Both Worlds
After breakfast your journey to Colombo via Galle begins. The travel time to Galle will be 1 hour 35 minutes.
A must-visit, the Galle Fort was built in 1588 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Be witness to the colonial era architecture within the Fort and allow the charm of yesteryear to enfold you. Some lovely shopping also awaits within the Fort.
Have lunch in a place of your choosing and then make your way to Colombo, which will take about 2 hours.
Upon arrival, check in at your comfortable hotel in Colombo. The city is the bustling commercial hub of the country where you will find great entertainment, super eateries and some exciting shopping.
Your overnight hotel stay is sure to be extremely relaxing.
Day 10 : Adieu
After breakfast you will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
