Day 01 : Dream Holiday

  • Upon arrival you will be greeted by a Taya Finch representative and proceed to Negombo.
  • Negombo is a famous fishing village located north of Colombo with easy access to the airport.
  • In the evening go on a Negombo sightseeing tour.
  • Have dinner out at one of the many dining options available.
  • Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02 - An Adventure in the Forest

  • After breakfast drive up along the North West coast to Wilpattu.
  • Upon arrival in Wilpattu you will be greeted by the camp staff and transferred to your campsite by jeep. Your campsite is located at the buffer zone of Wilpattu National Park. Afternoon jeep safari to Wilpattu National Park.
  • Wilpattu comprises of a unique complex of lakes called ‘Villus’. This unspoilt park is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Sri Lanka.
  • Leopards & Sloth bears are the attractions in the park. Other animals you might see during your safari are/ not limited to Asian Elephants, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Peacocks and mugger Crocodiles. For bird lovers it is possible to see the following endemic bird species; Ceylon Woodshrike, Ceylon Junglefowl, Brown-capped babbler and the Black-capped Bulbul.
  • Return back to your campsite in the evening for a scrumptious BBQ dinner & overnight stay.
Day 03 - One with Nature

  • Wake up early to the sound of nature around you and embark on a full day jeep safari to Wilpattu National Park with a visit to Pomparippu coast and archaeological sites.
  • Enjoy a picnic breakfast and a hot meal served to you for lunch.
  • Return back to your campsite in the evening for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 04 - Ancient Kingdoms

  • Early morning nature trail around the camp borders with the resident naturalist.
  • Enjoy your last breakfast at the campsite.
  • After breakfast check out from the campsite and travel to the first capital city of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura is considered the most extensive and the most important of the ancient cities in the northern region.
  • Thereafter leave for Sigiriya and have lunch at a restaurant of your choice en route.
  • Upon arrival in Sigiriya check in to the hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 05 - Birding Around a Fortress

  • Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast climb the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock.
  • Look out for dry zone birds such as Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Orange-headed thrush and White-rumped Shama.
  • Have lunch at a restaurant of your choice.
  • Visit Dambulla Cave Temple which has a history dating back to the 01st Century BC.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06 - Gathering of Elephants

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast leave to visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa which was the 2nd capital of Sri Lanka. Built in the 11th and 12th century A.D Polonnaruwa is now a UNESCO world heritage site.
  • Visit the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Vihara (three splendid statues of the Buddha in upright sedentary and recumbent postures carved out of rock).
  • Look out for the endemic Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill, White-rumped Shama, Rose-ringed Parakeets and Blue-winged Leafbird.
  • Have lunch at a restaurant of your choice.
  • On your return set out on a jeep safari to Minneriya National Park to witness the largest gathering of elephants in Asia known as ‘The Gathering’. In addition to wild elephants there are 160 species of birds, 09 amphibian species, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more than 78 butterfly species that have been found in this area.
  • Return back to your hotel for a mouthwatering dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07 - Virgin Rainforest

  • After a filling breakfast leave for Kitulgala.
  • David Lean’s epic war film “Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed in this area of the Kelani River, which runs through Kitulgala, and the ruins of the bridge still remains.
  • Drive by the hill capital Kandy and go on a sightseeing city tour.
  • Visit the Temple of the Tooth. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the “Dalada Maligawa” - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Today Kandy is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts, Dancing, Music and Culture.
  • Thereafter continue to Kitulgala and check in to your hotel.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 - A Prehistoric Cave

  • Have an early breakfast and trek to Makandawa Forest Reserve also known as Kelani Valley Forest Reserve.
  • Kelani Valley forest reserve is a low elevation forest where you can see rare and endemic birds, ampibians, reptiles, frogs, endemic fishes in the stream, endemic tree snails & if lucky mammals including mousedeer, monkeys and other small animals.
  • Some of the lowland endemic birds that can be seen are Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Red-faced Malkoha, Spot-winged Thrush, Sri Lanka Spurfowl, Brown-capped babbler, Green-billed Coucal and Sri Lanka Frogmouth.
  • Return back to your hotel and you could freshen up by having a chilly river bath.
  • In the evening go on another short trek to visit a prehistoric cave known as Beli Lena caves. It was here that the prehistoric Balangoda man was supposed to have lived. The caves are reached after a 10km drive from the main road through the Kitulgala tea estate. While at Belilena caves you get to witness the sight where the prehistoric man has lived 20000 years ago. The evidence done on the excavations at the sight have produced proof of 03 skeletons remains, food remains, micro & macro lythics and animal bone implements were found scattered among the large number of snail shells found in the caves.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09 - Winter Migrants

  • Wake up to the sound of the Kelani River gushing by.
  • You could either go bird watching to the rainforest again in case you missed spotting any birds or be adventurous and go white water rafting.
  • After an adrenaline filled morning check out of the hotel and you will be dropped at the train station at Nawalapitiya to board the scenic train journey to Nanu Oya.
  • You will be serenaded with landscapes straight out of a movie, lushes green tea plantations, small villages with green vegetable gardens and crossing bridges which makes it even interesting.
  • Your chauffeur will pick you up from Nanu Oya station and bring you to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
  • In the evening visit Victoria park for winter migrants Kashmir Flycatcher, Pied Thrush Indian Pitta and Indian Blue Robin.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10 - Walk Through a National Park

  • Take a packed breakfast and drive up to Horton plains national park to go on a 8km trek to the famous World’s End, a stunning viewpoint, which is a sheer drop of 870 meters hidden in clouds. This is the only national park in the country where visitors are allowed to walk freely inside.
  • Some of the wildlife that can be seen here/ not limited to are; Sambhur, Barking Deer, Bear Monkey, Giant Squirrel, Fishing Cat, Leopard and Wild Boar. More than 52 species of resident and 11 species of migrant birds can be seen. Of the endemic birds the Yellow-eared Bulbul, Sri Lanka Hill White-eye and Dull blue Flycatcher are the main highlights.
  • Return back to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
  • In the evening take a short walk around the Nuwara Eliya town which is referred to as “Little England” by the locals.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11 - Wildlife Safari

  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast in the mountains descend to the southern coast of Yala.
  • As you descend you will notice the change of the landscape around you. In a matter of few hours the climate, flora & fauna changes.
  • Upon arrival in Yala check in to the hotel.
  • In the afternoon jeep safari to Yala National Park and experience the best of the wildlife it has to offer.
  • After an adventurous safari return to your hotel for dinner & & overnight stay.
Day 12 - Picnic in the Park

  • Take a packed breakfast and set out for full day safari to Yala National Park.
  • Enjoy your picnic breakfast & lunch served inside the park.
  • Yala is the most famous national park in Sri Lanka and is also known worldwide for its highest density of leopards anywhere in the world. Yala also has the highest densities of mugger crocodiles in the world. During a safari at Yala some of the wildlife you can see/ not limited to are; Leopards, Sloth Bear, Asian Elephants, Mugger Crocodiles, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Wild Buffalo, Mongoose and many other animals. Some of the birds that can be seen are Painted Stork, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Lesser Adjuntant and Black-necked Stork.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13 - To the Coast

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast leave for Mirissa for two nights.
  • Upon arrival in the hotel check in to the hotel.
  • In the evening leave for Galle and visit the Galle fort which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 14 - Ocean Giants

  • With a packed breakfast proceed to the Mirrisa harbor (to be present by 0630hrs) for an excursion with the Whales. (Excursion will commence for 4 – 5 hours, depending on the sightings)
  • Sri Lanka’s waters are very rich in marine life and some of the marine mammals that can be seen during the excursion are Spinner Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Turtles, Sperm Whales and the largest creature in the world; Blue Whales.
  • Sri Lanka is one of the best destinations in the world to see Blue Whales.
  • After returning back to shore spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 15 - Goodbye Memories

  • Enjoy your breakfast and say goodbye to lifelong memories.
  • Transfer to the airport for departure.
