Itinerary
Day 01: Island celebration begins
Begin the tour with the greetings of a Tayafinch representative on your arrival, followed by a 4 hours’ drive to the last stronghold of Sinhalese Kings.
Stop by Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which houses more than hundreds of elephants in all ages and conditions. Snap a moment while bottle feeding this gigantic mammals or feeding their favorite fruits. Then follow the herds to the river across the streets and watch the gentle giants enjoy their bathing times while capturing their natural yet dramatic poses.
Proceed to Kandy and let us reveal the city through a sightseeing tour. Followed by a visit to the sacred Buddhist Shrine, Kandy Tooth of Temple, the centerpiece of the hill capital guarded by Kandy Lake.
Evening is to catch a glimpse of the Ceylon dancing traditions.
After a day of excitement, delight your taste buds with the scrumptious dinner prior to your retirement tonight.
Day 02: Winter at the Little England
Today after breakfast, allow us to take you through a fine Ceylon tea experience. Enlighten yourselves on life of a tealeaf from an estate to a factory, then to a cup of tea followed by a perfect “tea tasting experience”.
Take a train ride to “Little England” in the afternoon. The journey through the clouds presents you the breathtaking views of tea plantations, waterfalls and misty mountain tunnels is an absolute dream ride.
At the train, station awaits your personal chauffeur guide. The vaguely British country village much favored among Englishmen away from home in the Colonial era brings the perfect winter vibes through its special cool climate.
Check-in at your hill-country retreat and for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 03: Holiday in Countryside
After breakfast, today visit the Ambewela dairy farm blessed with spectacular views, followed by a visit to the strawberry farm. Enjoy fresh milk and freshly plucked strawberries from the country lands.
Then proceed to the town for the city tour. Drive passing the oldest buildings and witness the bygone heritage of the city. Stop by the Gregory Lake. Water sports here is an experience one of a kind. Take a boat ride or a canoe to the furthest borders of the lake to relax. The ones who dare to feel the adrenaline rush will fancy a ride on a jet ski.
Proceed back to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 04 & 05: Festive beaches
Journey from the hill country to the down south beaches to celebrate the holidays. On arrival to Beruwala, your beach stop check-in at the hotel. The five star property defines a fine beach holiday disconnecting you from the world outside. Spoil your selves with the variety of scrumptious food and beverages. Unwind at the pool or by the beach.
Next day morning, take a Boat Safari in Madu River, find your way through the mangroves to the Cinnamon Island and let your feet be cleansed by a natural fish exfoliation therapy. Then visit the turtle hatchery to witness the endangered species from all ages and conditions.
Proceed back to the beach haven for overnight stay and entertainment.
Day 06: Under the city lights
Today, travel to the commercial hub to complete your winter holidays with a night under the city lights. On arrival to the capital, catch a glimpse of the city through a complimentary sightseeing tour.
Don’t miss out the winter deals available at the malls and departmental stores.
Your evenings at Colombo can be busy inside the malls or little boutiques searching for fine local goodies and souvenirs to take back home, or the international brands, Colombo Night walks (Guided / Unguided) or with culinary explorations. If not simply laze at a restaurant or a roof top bar to celebrate your winter holidays.
