Itinerary

Day 1 – Say hello to Sri Lankan Elephants

  • On arrival Sri Lanka you will be met by our Taya Finch chauffeur guide.
  • Transfer to Habarana en route visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in time to witness the bathing and bottle feeding of elephants.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage "The world's first and only elephant orphanage established to feed, nurse and house young elephants lost or abandoned by their mothers. Other occupants are elephants displaced from their natural environs by development projects or those found wounded. Visitors could see the baby elephants being fed milk from gigantic feeding bottles or bathed in the river which flows nearby an unforgettable sight!

Day 2 – Explore the exquisite rock fortress

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Sigiriya is  UNESCO World Heritage Site, a spectacular Rock Fortress, is one of Sri Lanka's major attractions. The most impressive facets of the unique complex are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion platform and the Summit of 1.6 hectares, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya's glory.

Day 3 – Embrace the ancient culture

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer to Kandy enroute visit a Spice Garden in Matale.

Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, Kandy, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and the Royal Botanical Garden. A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the center of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or gold jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world's best blue and star sapphires.

Day 4 – Bask in nature’s serenity

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens followed by a sightseeing tour of Kandy.

Day 5 – Be mesmerized by cascading waterfalls

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer to Nuwara Eliya en route visit Ramboda Falls & a Tea Factory/ Plantation en route.

Sri Lanka's premier hill resort with a fine bracing mountain climate, Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, producing some of the world's best tea. The mountain slopes and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. Red or green roofed plantation bungalows, English country style homes and hotels with lovely flower gardens, a fine 18 hole golf course and a racecourse gives Nuwara Eliya a decidedly British character.

Day 6 – Experience the beauty of natural treasures

  • Optional early morning excursion to Horton Plains with a packed breakfast.

Horton Plains National Park, is on Sri Lanka's highest plateau over 2100m above sea level in the central mountains is a strange and tranquil region with an astounding variety of scenery - from misty mountains to grasslands, from marshes to ice cold streams, lakes and waterfalls. Two highlights are the spectacular view from 'Worlds End' where the plateau plunges almost 1000m in a sheer drop and the beautiful "Bridal Veil" Bakers Falls. The perfect location for hiking with excellent trails and cool climate.

Day 7 – Colonial elegance meets urban charm

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer to Colombo.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • In the evening conduct a sightseeing tour of Colombo n inulge in some shopping.

Colombo is a fascinating city - a happy blend of East & West, past & present, with a charm of its own. A less known but amazingly true fact is that Colombo has a superb range of high quality restaurants serving food from all over the world and some of the best shopping opportunities in Asia. Places of interest are the beautiful Buddhist temples, Hindu temples, mosques, the historic Wolfendhal church, (1749), the Colombo Museum, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, the New Parliament in Sri Jayewardenepura, Art Galleries, Parks, Independence Square, the Ceramic Corporation famous for its well-known brand "Noritake" and ODEL the renowned shopping centre.
