Itinerary

Day 01 : Dream Holiday

Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be met by our representative and transferred to Marawila in 40 minutes where you will check in at Horathapola Estate, The elegance and old-world chic of Horathapola Bungalows architecture and design blend seamlessly with the tranquillity of the estate to make for an idyllic getaway.

What a lovely way to spend the rest of your evening at leisure by the garden side of Horathapola!

Enjoy dinner at a place of your choosing and then retire at the estate for a comfortable night.

Day 02 : Island Culture

This morning you will travel to the cultural triangle and your journey from Marawila to Thirappane will take about 4 hours.

Find a place that is suitable for lunch and afterwards check in at the Ulagalla Resort, which was once the ancestral home of Anuradhapura nobility. The resort includes 20 private, ecologically-built chalets on 58 acres of land and is one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Have dinner at a venue of your choice and look forward to a restful night at the resort with the promise of a tasty breakfast in the morning.

Day 03 : Simple Life

The morning will be an exciting one with a visit to a local village by bike.
Discover the elegant simplicity of Sri Lankan village life on this two-hour guided bicycle excursion which ends 6 km away in Veheragalla, a traditional farming village. Keep an eye open for exotic birds and small wildlife along the route and expect some pleasant surprises! Await an island welcome at the home of the village headman.
Explore the area and find a suitable place for lunch.

Expect a lovely evening visit to the Anuradhapura citadel, an ancient kingdom which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with culture, history and beauty.

Dinner is at your own time and place before getting back to the hotel for a peaceful night and hearty breakfast in the morning.

Day 04 : Memorable Era

Today you journey to Kandy after breakfast, on a picturesque journey of approx. 3 hours.

Have lunch wherever you wish, and then check in at the Kandy House, a luxuriously renovated manor house built in 1804.

Spend your evening at leisure and then stake out a place for dinner before retiring to your room at the Kandy House. A sumptuous breakfast awaits in the morning.

Day 05 : Mesmerising Beauty

This morning you may choose to take a walk through Udawatte Kele which is a sanctuary located behind the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The forest was a forbidden area in Sri Lanka’s ancient history and is the habitat of various kinds of animals such as wild boar, monkeys, reptiles and such, along with varieties of flora and fauna.

The pond in the heart of the jungle was the place where queens in the past bathed and used as their pleasure garden. At times of war, kings always used the forest for their defence against attacks and very often they escaped through the heavy foliage to a safer place.

Enjoy lunch at your own time and place and take an evening trip to the Temple of the Tooth and then visit the bustling market of Kandy followed by a cup of tea at Royal Bar and Hotel. 

Satisfy your appetite with dinner at an eatery anywhere in the town and then head back to Kandy House for the night where a good breakfast is sure to please you in the morning.

Day 06 : Scenery for the Soul

Take a scenic train ride to the tea hills this morning departing at 10:52am from the Peradeniya train station. 

Settle in at Tea Trails in time for lunch. Sri Lankas first first Relais & Chateaux resort, comprises four luxurious colonial era tea planters' bungalows, connected by walking trails through stunningly beautiful Ceylon tea gardens.

Relax the evening away and then sit down to a tasty dinner at the bungalow.

Await a lovely Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Overnight stay at Tea Trails. 

Day 07 : Day to Remember

Look forward to a memorable day at Tea Trails where our Resident Tea Planter will show you first hand the age-old tea making process. Follow the trail of the Old Ceylon planters as they looked for the best slopes to plant tea and then witness the current tea pluckers at work. Then, move on to the factory where the all-important conversion to black tea happens, using traditional British machinery.

What a lunch you will have on the veranda of your bungalow, before setting off for an evening of trekking and hiking around the plantations. Enjoy the scenery, the exotic birds, mountain lakes and so much more.
A guide can be provided or self-walk on marked trails. Many of our guests walk from one Tea Trails bungalow to another for a meal or cup of tea.

You are sure to have worked up an appetite for a scrumptious dinner at your bungalow.

Day 08 & 09 : Beach Bum

Be pleasantly surprised by the gorgeousness of your beach stay in at The Last House inTangalle.

Barefoot Luxury created by renowned Architect Geoffrey Bawa, this is the ideal place for that wonderful vacation. It is also within distance of the Yala National Park and allows for Whale Watching expeditions as well.
Close by is also an option for the history buff - a visit to the Mulkirigala Cave Temple which rises about 676 feet from the surrounding land mass. There are seven cave temples situated in five Terraced areas of different altitudes and are a great sight to see.
Have lunch wherever you choose in the area and spend your evening at leisure. Dinner too, is at a place of your choice and afterwards head back to The Last House for a restful night and great breakfast the next morning.

Day 10 : Colombo Calls

Today you make your way to Colombo in about 4 hours and check in at the chic Tintagel.

A beautifully-appointed boutique hotel, it was once the home of three of Sri Lanka’s great political leaders. It is also the landmark hotel in Colombo which hosted their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall when they visited Colombo in 2013.

Explore your surroundings and dine out before returning to the hotel for your overnight stay and breakfast the next morning.

Day 1 : Farewell

Your journey to the airport for your departure flight will take 30 minutes, so take in the sights and sounds of the island life before you return for your next vacation
